“Art on Walls” at Shrigley Hall Hotel and Spa

20 July 2018 – “Art on Walls” at Shrigley Hall Hotel and Spa

July also saw the launch of a series of art exhibitions at Shrigley Hall Hotel and Spa in support of Bollington Festival 2019. We had an official launch on 19 July with Shrigley Hall hosting the event on a beautiful evening overlooking the Cheshire Plain. Currently the exhibition is presenting works by local artist, Emily Mugridge and well-known Whaley Bridge artist, Rob Wilson. This exhibition is open to the public during the day and will run until the end of August with other exhibitions from different artists to follow until Christmas. Please visit the exhibition and enjoy the lovely facilities Shrigley Hall has to offer. A percentage of the sales will go to the Festival and a catalogue with prices are available at the hotel reception where purchases can be made.

Bollington Beer Festival

14 July 2018 – Bollington Beer Festival

July saw the return of the very popular Bollington Beer Festival. A small cloudburst on the Friday evening at 6pm when the gates opened, was never going to ruin this fantastic event. People came from everywhere to taste and consume ales, ciders and the fantastic gins on offer this year and the three sessions were well attended. We are very grateful to all the organisers, sponsors and volunteers for their hard work. Your contribution from the last two Beer Festivals towards Bollington Festival 2019 fundraising is much appreciated. We are looking forward to the beer tent going up on the Rec next festival!

Bollington in bloom

17 June 2018 – Bollington in bloom

In June, Maria O’Brien and Deborah Roberts with their brave group of helpers, took on an event of epic proportions by presenting us with Bollington Open Gardens. Sixteen beautiful and very different gardens were opened to the public and a hive of activity on The Market Place with a cake and a refreshment stall, a raffle and a tombola, created a festive atmosphere over the whole weekend and across Bollington. A huge congratulations to the organisers of the event and thank you for the amazing £3417.76 you raised for Bollington Festival. Keep an eye out for this event as part of the Festival programme in 2019! And if you would like to get involved and open your garden in 2019, please contact us through the website.

Bollington Mayor marches for the Festival

1 May 2018 – Bollington Mayor marches for the Festival

In his year as mayor, Andy Langdon nominated Bollington Festival as one of his charities. With generous donations and sponsorship from the public, Andy marched up and down White Nancy in rain and snow more times than he probably cared for, but by doing this and quite a bit more, he raised £2661.86 for the Festival for which we are very thankful indeed.
