Bollington artists were celebrating the successful launch of their ‘Open Studios’ exhibition on Sunday.
Visitors enjoyed a glass of wine and the chance to preview new work by local artists taking part in this year’s Bollington Festival Artists’ Trail.
“It was a great success” says Trail coordinator, Emma King. “The quality of work is outstanding and it’s so wonderful to have this amount of talent on our doorstep. We’re just looking forward now to opening our studios, so that people can see how we work.”
Bollington’s deputy mayor, Cllr Shirley Sockett, officially opened the exhibition and little people were much in evidence too, encouraging the idea that art is for everyone.
The ‘Open Studios’ exhibition continues next Sunday10th May
2-4pm and during other events at the Arts Centre.
The Artists’ Trail takes place over the first two weekends of the Festival – 9/10 and 16/17 of May – from 11-5pm. Trail maps are available to guide visitors around the open studios and souvenir posters of the village have also been printed for sale.
