Family concert with unique sounds, stunning rhythms, and fun too!
Oliver Cox and Owen Gunnell studied at the Royal College of Music and graduated with first class honours. They formed O Duo in 2000 and in 2004 were awarded the first percussion Junior Fellowship at the RCM.
They have performed concertos with the BBC Philharmonic, London Philharmonic and Philharmonia orchestras, worked at Abbey Road and Sony Studios on television and film scores and broadcast on BBC Radios 2 and 3, Classic FM, Channel Four and BBC Television as well as giving liveÃ�’Æ’Ã†’Ã�’â€ ’Ã�’Æ’Ã¢â‚¬Â ’Ã�’Æ’Ã†’Ã�’â€šÃ‚Â¢Ã�’Æ’Ã‚Â¢Ã�’Â¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…Â¡Ã�’â€šÃ‚Â¬Ã�’Æ’Ã¢â‚¬Â¦Ã�’â€šÃ‚Â¡Ã�’Æ’Ã†’Ã�’â€ ’Ã�’Æ’Ã‚Â¢Ã�’Â¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â¬Ã�’â€¦Ã‚Â¡Ã�’Æ’Ã†’Ã�’Â¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…Â¡Ã�’Æ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã�’â€šÃ‚Â concerts throughout the UK and Europe.
O Duo’s repertoire spans more than 300 years popular classics mixed with contemporary music played on two marimbas (a Latin American xylophone), vibraphone and a huge collection of percussion.
Oliver and Owen’s performances are very popular with old and young alike as they communicate with immediacy and brilliance ’ whether they’re playing Dave Brubeck (Take Five ) , Frederic Chopin (a demanding study with a lot of very quick notes originally written for the piano)or Astor Piazzola’s slow melodic tango called Oblivion.
Come and hear them and have your ears and eyes dazzled by their outstanding musicianship and athleticism.
