If
you
took
part
in
the
Carnival
procession
which
began
Bollington
Festival
2005,
I’m
sure
you
can
still
remember
the
marvellous
sight
it
provided
as
more
than
700
people,
two
fire
engines,
three
bands,
several
motor
bikes
and
one
open-topped
car
carrying
the
Town
Mayor
made
their
way
from
Ingersley
Road
to
the
Atax
field
on
Ovenhouse
Lane.
Well,
Festival
time
is
approaching
again
and
the
Carnival
is
due
to
take
place
on
Saturday
May
9th
2009.
This
time
we
want
everyone
to
“Think
Green”
and
try
to
convey
a
message
about
the
need
for
us
all
to
try
to
combat
global
warming
and
the
drastic
effect
it
could
have
on
our
planet
and
the
life
it
supports.
If
you
belong
to
a
group
concerned
with
wildlife
or
the
environment,
I’m
sure
you’ll
know
exactly
what
message
you
want
to
put
across
in
leaflets,
banners
etc,
but
some
of
you
may
find
it
difficult
to
think
of
a
way
of
promoting
your
interest
group
and
link
your
activity
to
the
Carnival’s
theme.
Remember
that
this
is
a
huge
subject
which
encompasses
every
aspect
of
our
lives;
it
includes
thinking
harder
about
the
way
we
use
the
Earth’s
resources
for
instance
-
trying
to
make
more
of
what
we
have
on
our
doorsteps,
being
careful
not
to
waste
anything,
thinking
of
imaginative
ways
to
adjust
to
a
life
without
some
of
the
things
we’ve
grown
so
used
to
having
and
being
aware
of
how
the
way
we
live
affects
others
living
outside
Europe.
I’m
sure
there
are
a
lot
of
good
ideas
out
there
and
that
you’ll
help
us
create
a
Carnival
procession
to
remember,
one
that
gives
a
lot
of
fun
as
well
as
a
lot
to
think
about!
Local
organisations
will
be
contacted
later
in
the
year,
so
watch
out
for
a
letter
and
start
your
imaginations
working
to
produce
some
really
spectacular
sights
on
May
9th.
